The family of Declan Weldon are currently raising funds after he was involved in an accident in Mexico on November 20th where he hit his head.

The 27-year-old collapsed and was unresponsive after the accident when paramedics attended the scene.

Brought to hospital by emergency services, the young man is currently in an induced coma in a private hospital in Mexico.

Following the accident, details of which are unknown, Declan is under 24-hour care from the nursing and medical staff at the hospital’s ICU which is at significant cost to the family.

The young man’s loved ones set up a GoFundMe in order to raise money for his recovery.

“His family and friends are currently working with the medical team in Mexico to try and do all they can for Declan,” they said in a statement.

“This page has been set-up to try and help both Declan and his family with the cost of the medical care and the cost of the rehabilitation involved.”

“Any support in financing Declan’s recovery now is much appreciated.”

Well wishers shared their messages of support on the page.

"Struggling for words, hoping for all the best for you Deco," wrote one person.

"Stay strong big guy," added another, with many others wishing the young man a speedy recovery.
