Dublin Fire Brigade have released frightening photos of a blaze in North Dublin last night as firefighters battled to control the fire for hours.

Just after 8pm on Sunday night, the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of a hay barn fire in Kinsealy, Fingal, Co. Dublin.

Four units, including a water tanker, were called to tackle the flames and a water relay was put in place to pump water to the fire ground.

In a social media post at approximately 11.30pm, Dublin Fire Brigade said that “good progress” had been made in containing the fire, with one unit remaining near the scene overnight to conduct firefighting operations.

The emergency services said that the fire was “visible in the nightsky” from Donabate and warned nearby residents to keep all windows and doors closes as smoke was drifting in the area.

There were no details as to the suspected cause of the fire or reports of any injuries.
