DUBLIN Bus has apologised for major problems with information being displayed at bus stops and online since Tuesday.

Hundreds of thousands of commuters had no information on computerised screens at bus stops until it was rectified at 6.30pm this evening.

Real time information on mobile devices was also not accessible.

“A necessary system update for Real time information was scheduled to take place from 10.00hrs on Tuesday 8 December until 13.00hrs on Wednesday 9 December,” a spokesperson told Sundayworld.com

“In order to facilitate this upgrade, RTPI services had to be switched off during that time.

While the system upgrade went as planned, unexpected technical issues arose.

“These technical issues have been worked on and the link to the Transport for Ireland app and Journey planner was re-established on Thursday morning 10 December.

“Dublin Bus app and website RPTI services were re-established at 18.00 on Thursday and we are currently working to restore RTPI to all street signs.

“Dublin Bus apologises to customers for the inconvenience this has caused.”

A spokesperson added that the bus stop information has been back running since 6.30pm this evening.
