Truck topples Diversions put in place as cement truck overturns on the N18

This was the scene on the N18 this morning after a cement truck overturned on the city-bound carriageway at around 9.30am. 

The incident occurred at junction 4 (Cratloe), close to the exit for the Radisson Blu Hotel.

There were no reports of any serious injuries but diversions have been put in place.

Motorists travelling from Co Clare to Limerick have been warned that the road could remain closed for several hours before the truck is removed and the scene cleared.

Emergency services including gardai and units from Shannon fire station remain at the scene of the incident.

Personnel from Limerick City Fire and Rescue were also alerted and but have since returned to their base at Mulgrave Street.
