The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was rushed to University Hospital Galway to be treated for his injuries, which have been described as “serious.”
A cyclist is in a “serious condition” after being hit by a car in Co. Galway this morning.
The incident took place at approximately 6.15am today, Monday 31st January, at Powers Cross, Ballyshrule, Portumna in Co. Galway.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was rushed to University Hospital Galway to be treated for his injuries, which have been described as “serious.”
The road was closed as Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward and are also appealing to any road users with video footage from the location between 6.00am and 6.30am to make it available to them.
