Latest Figures Coronavirus Ireland: One further death and 429 new Covid-19 cases confirmed

A total of 174 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 45 are in ICU


There has been one further Covid-19 related death while 429 new cases of the virus have been confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 4,873 while the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland now stands at 246,633.

The median age of those who newly contracted the illness is 29 years old with 78 per cent of cases ocurring in people under 45 years of age.

.Of the cases notified today, 234 were disgnosed in men and 182 are women.

As of 8am today, 174 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 45 are in ICU. 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of April 23rd 2021, 1,359,921 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland - with966,611 people havinh received their first dose and 393,310 people having received their second dose.
