Latest figures Coronavirus Ireland: 17 further deaths and 788 new Covid-19 cases confirmed


There has been a further 17 Covid-19 related deaths while 788 new cases of the virus confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 3,948 while the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland now stands at 209,582 .

According to the Department of Health, of the deaths reported today, 15 of these deaths occurred in February and 1 in December.*

The median age of those who died was 80 years and the age range was 50 to 92 years.

Of the recorded cases, 315 are in Dublin, 61 in Galway, 59 in Meath, 42 in Louth, 33 in Kildare and the remaining 278 cases are spread across all other counties.

As of 8am today, 899 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 160 are in ICU. 34 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of 11 February, 261,073 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland - with 171,239 people having received their first dose and 89,834 people having received their second dose.
