Latest figures Coronavirus Ireland: 15 further deaths and 401 new Covid-19 cases confirmed

182 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 47 are in ICU.


There has been a further 15 Covid-19 related deaths while 401 new cases of the virus have been confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

According to the Department, two of the deaths occured in April, three in March, six in February, four in January or earlier.

This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 4,856 while the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland now stands at 244,695.

The median age of those who died was 82 years and the age range was 56-90 years.

.Of the cases notified today, 217 were disgnosed in men and 181 are women.

Of the new cases, 182 are in Dublin, 40 in Kildare, 31 in Donegal, 23 in Limerick, 22 in Cork and the remaining 103 cases are spread across 17 other counties

As of 8am today, 182 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 47 are in ICU. 19 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of April 19th, 2021, 1,219,487 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland with 863,958 people having received their first dose and 355,529 people having received their second dose.
