Cops in the UK are hunting a hard-hearted robber with an Irish accent who was involved in a ram-raid that smashed through the shutters of a funeral directors near Birmingham.

The raiders, one of whom was heard on CCTV speaking with an Irish accent, reversed their Volvo into J W Marsh Funeral Directors Dudley in High Oak and forced their way inside at around 11.45pm on Tuesday, November 17.

They managed to swipe cash and jewellery including the property of the recently deceased as well as a small urn from a safe before fleeing the scene.

"CCTV footage shows a man with an Irish accent call another man ’Joseph’,” cops said. “If you recognise them or have any information, we are urging you to contact us.”

Video footage captured the moment a grey Volvo V40 with false plates rammed through the shutters and the suspects then loading the car up with stolen items before fleeing into the night.

One man said on social media that his mother's wedding rings were among items stolen.
