Road accident Child rushed to hospital in 'critical condition' after car crash in Co Tipperary

A child was rushed to hospital following a "serious" two-car crash in Co Tipperary late last night.

The incident took place at Lismaline, Ballingarry, Roscrea at around 11.35pm.

Six people were injured, including a young girl.

She was rushed to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin and is in a "critical but stable condition", a garda spokesperson told sundayworld.com.

The male drivers of both vehicles and three other passengers, were taken to University Hospital Limerick, with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed last night for Garda Forensic Investigators to conduct an examination with local diversions but later repoened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the townland of Lismaline, Ballingarry last night and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
