Welfare concerns Charity releases video showing stray horses in Dublin
A charity has said horses are suffering across Dublin because laws in relation to their welfare are not being enforced.
The 'My Lovely Horse Charity' have released this video of horses on public land in Dublin in recent days.
They said, while some of the horses were being looked after, many weren’t and were grazing illegally.
“This is Dublin,” a spokesperson for the charity said. “Most of these videos were taken over three days. Laws are being continually broken. Horses are suffering. This is wrong. It is time for action and laws to be enforced.”
The charity said they wanted to help communities and are calling on local councils, the Department of Agriculture and Gardai to work together to tackle the issue.
“A multi-agency response is needed. The Government needs to ensure this happens. They have promised they would address equine welfare in the Programme for Government.”
