A car on fire caused traffic delays in Dublin this morning, as parts of the road were closed off to all vehicles and pedestrians.

Dublin Fire Brigade said that at around half nine this morning, the Eastern Regional Control Centre received an emergency call about the vehicle ablaze outside the Four Courts on Inns Quay.

Crews from Phibsborough rushed to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the blaze using a high pressure hose reel.

No injuries were reported, however the road had to be closed for a period of time to allow the firefighters to work safely.

Once the fire was put out, members of An Garda Síochána took over and arranged to remove the burned vehicle.
