Two gardai have been praised for their calm demeanour as they are confronted by a young man throwing shapes at them in a video that has gone viral on Tik-Tok.
In the short clip, the two officers are seen patiently trying to diffuse the situation as the youngster squares up to them.
In the footage that appears to have been recorded in Limerick, the shirtless young man shadow boxes in front of the two officers while others in the background can be heard mocking him.
One person is heard saying, “shut up, my mother’s asleep”.
The youth, dressed only in a pair of tracksuit bottoms, aims a few half-hearted punches at the gardai, and slaps one in the hand before running away.
He then returns and pretends to extend his hand to the officer before running away again.

The gardai are praised in the comments section for their handling of the matter with one writing: “Love the 2 guards so easy going that’s what you need they didn’t escalate it.”
Another adds: “Gardai have an impossible job sometimes.”
“Love the way the Garda walks around with hands in pockets,” adds another.
“Stressful job guards have,” says one.
