There will be no doom and gloom outside on Budget day as most of the country are set to enjoy dry, sunny weather.

Early morning showers will have cleared for the majority of the country making way for a cool and breezy day with plenty of sunshine.

The “La Nina” weather event will keep the high-pressure weather over the country but will push any scattered showers east later in the day.

Temperatures today will reach a pleasant 14 degrees however homes in the east of the country can expect temperatures as low as two degrees tonight with some heavy showers.

Those showers will continue into Wednesday morning in the east of the country but will clear up by the afternoon.

Any wet weather will soon give way to bright breezy sunshine and highest temperatures of 15 degrees.

And according to Met Éireann, Wednesday "will be the best day of the week."

“Wednesday will start off wet for the east if the country becoming mostly dry with good spells of sunshine, and feeling very pleasant as winds ease,” a forecaster revealed.

“You can expect high temperatures of between 13 to 15 degrees with a light easterly breeze.

“It is going to be your typical autumnal weather with strong sunshine and while there will be some rain in the morning, Wednesday looks set to be the best day of the week.

“You can expect cold temperatures with light frost at night time but this pattern of weather is expected to stay for the rest of the week.”
