THE body of a man has been found at a house in Wexford Town in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí, the National Ambulance Service and the Fire Service attended the scene at the Kerlogue Manor estate on the Rosslare Road early this morning and gardaí have remained at the scene since.

The man’s remains were taken to University Hospital Waterford for a full post mortem examination, while the scene was cordoned off pending the results.

The discovery is initially being regarded as an “unexplained death” but garda sources believe that any foul play could be definitively ruled out later today. Meanwhile, gardaí are carrying out door to door enquiries.

An official garda statement said: “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a man in his 30s at a property in Wexford town in the early hours of this morning.

"His body has since been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem will take place at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.”
