Latest figures 47 further deaths and 631 new Covid-19 cases confirmed


There has been a further 47 Covid-19 related deaths while 631 new cases of the virus have been confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

According to the Department, 14 of these deaths occurred in March, 18 occurred in February and 15 occurred in January.

This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 4,499 while the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland now stands at 224,588.

.Of the cases notified today, 317 are disgnosed in men and 308 are in women

A total of 247 of the new cases are in Dublin, 50 in Kildare, 44 in Meath, 41 in Cork, 32 in Limerick and the remaining 217 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

As of 8am today, 370 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 92 are in ICU. 31 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of March 07, 525,768 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland with 375,521 people having received their first dose and 150,247 people having received their second dose
