€265m apartments complex would have 'dog wash' for pets
Architect’s drawing of how the proposed rental apartments complex in Dundrum would look
PET-LOVERS at a proposed €265m apartment complex in Dundrum can make use of a dog wash to hose down their mucky mutts.
Consultants Global Apartment Advisors said there will be facilities in place for pets at the 628-apartment complex.
These include the dog wash, which will be "a specific space that will be created for those pet owners who wish to wash their dogs outside their apartment".
A pet and dog run will be provided as "an open space for pets, mainly dogs, to exercise".
A dog grooming room will be provided on the ground floor.
Lioncor Developments is also proposing a vegetable patch, barbecue area, cinema room, games area, shared lounge and chef's kitchen and dining facilities.
They are also planning a rooftop gym on one of the blocks and a running track around the site.
Lioncor has submitted a fast-track planning application to An Bord Pleanála so the complex can be built sooner and without involving the city council.
It wants to build seven blocks of apartments, ranging from three to nine storeys, on its Marmalade Lane site at the end of Wyckham Avenue.
Dundrum Town Centre is said to be about a 10-minute walk away.
The developers are proposing 279 one-bedroom apartments, 318 two-bed flats and 31 three-bedroom apartments at the build-to-rent site.
Global Apartment Advisors say the on-site team for Lioncor "will act as a catalyst for residents coming together and establishing shared interests among themselves, be this perhaps running, cooking, yoga, dog-walking services or coming together for sporting events on TV".
The consultants also said the range of amenities for the complex support "the promotion of wellness through the encouragement of resident engagement and the formation of a community" and "secondly, the promotion and support of resident health."
