Aldi Specially Selected French Jurançon

This week, I've got two great wines from the Aldi summer range for you. Whether you're chilling in the garden or going further afield, be sure to pop one of these award winners to into your picnic basket.

Aldi Specially Selected French Jurançon Sec €7.99

Gros Manseng is the grape used to make the truly great wines of Jurançon, one of France's most under-rated wine regions. The Jurançon region, near the city of Pau, is very close to the Pyrenee Mountains. The flavour is an exciting cocktail of grapefruit and passion fruit with good, fresh acidity. This would be perfect served with some rustic bread topped with cold ham, hard boiled eggs and cheese and some mayonnaise. This wine was a bronze medal winner at the 2020 IWSC Awards.

Aldi Specially Selected Pays d'Herault Rosé €7.99

This is an Indication Géographique Protégée wine from a region known as d'Herault on the southern coast of France. It is made from a blend of three grapes, the red ones, Cinsault and Grenache, give it colour. The white grape is the aromatic Muscat from where this wine gets its floral aromas. With buckets of ripe strawberry flavours, this pale pink rosé is summer in a glass. A bronze medal winner at the 2021 International Wine Challenge, enjoy this with salmon and pasta salad.
