Are you even considered A-List unless you have your own tequila or French vineyard these days?

Anyone who is anyone has themselves an alcohol side hustle nowadays, to help form a pension plan for when their short-lived careers in Hollywood or the octagon goes belly-up.

From Angeline Jolie to Idris Elba and from Graham Norton to Jamie Foxx, some of our favourite singing, acting and sporting stars are cashing in on the multi-million euro business of booze.

This week Mariah Carey became the latest celebrity to enter the busy market when she launched ‘Black Irish’ to the world joining a whole host of names to create their own brands of booze.

Graham Norton

In 2012 when Norton launched a very palatable Sauvignon Blanc, cynics all believed it would be a short-lived dalliance with the industry. But nearly a decade later the charismatic Corkman has become one of the biggest names in the game with a handful of wines, a prosecco and even a gin added to the range.

Jamie Foxx

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is winning over new fans over fans again, but this time, it’s not for his incredible vocals or acting. He has by recently adding ‘booze brand owner’ to his CV. The shrewd businessman owns bourbon company Brown Sugar Bourbon and it has been used in some of his celeb pals’ music videos to help promote the ‘ultra-smooth with sweet tasting notes of both brown sugar and cinnamon’ bourbon.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall claims she spent years creating the flavour of her new tequila 818. We’re guessing her huge team of distillers, scientists and brand managers were focussed on the drink while she was busy filtering on Instagram. “For almost 4 years I’ve been on a journey to create the best tasting tequila. After dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING... 3.5 years later I think we’ve done it,” she said.

Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz launched a vegan-friendly white wine and a rosé made with organic grapes, and free of unnecessary additives. As long as they left the alcohol in we’ll  give it a try. She also said she is going to add to the Avaline range with a red and a sparkling number.

Michael Jordan

He is the best basketball player of all time and has been paid a reported €1.3billion by Nike over four decades but that just isn’t enough for the 6ft 6in Bulls legend. He scored a slam dunk with his tequila Cincoro which sells limited editions bottles that get snapped up in seconds. Rumour has it the super-sized bottles (1.75ltr) are stored away for resale, not that Jordan will care too much.

Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt

Hollywood’s former golden couple still share a few bonds like their kids and the hugely successful Miraval wine label which they have co-owned for a decade with the Perrin family. They even have a $390 rosé Champagne called Fleur de Miraval, which must come with a side order of notions.

Snoop Dogg

Although the rapper is well known for his loyalty to ‘gin and juice’, Snoop teamed up with 19 Crimes wine to create his very own Cali Red blend. It’s the brand’s first California wine and features 65 per cent Petite Syrah, 30 per cent Zinfandel, and 5 per cent Merlot.

Post Malone

This shocked a lot of people. The tattooed American rapper, known for his wild antics, announced he was bringing out his own booze. But it wasn’t vodka or tequila as expected. Maison No. 9 is a delicious rosé and pays homage to a classic rosé and his love of the Mediterranean lifestyle. The name is inspired by his favourite tarot card, the Nine of Swords, and represents overcoming daily challenges. He’s a dark horse.

Conor McGregor

Did you know that MMA star Conor McGregor has a whiskey called Proper 12? Probably not because he almost never talks about it. Anyone who appreciates fine whiskey may not rate the tipple but such is the marketing power of the Dubliner that he is sitting on a gold mine as his fans lap it up all over the world.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Of course The Rock has an alcohol brand. And of course it is tequila. The former wrestler and former wrestler and Hollywood heavyweight has created an ultra-premium highlands tequila crafted in Jalisco, a small town in Mexico. Named Teremana (translated to ‘rock’ and ‘spirit’), it is made from mature, naturally sweet agave that’s slow-roasted in small traditional brick ovensand distilled in handmade copper pots. We can’t wait to smell what’s cooking.

Jon Bon Jovi, Hampton Water

Oenophiles agree: You don’t need to live on a prayer when you sip Jon Bon Jovi’s rosé, the brain child of the rocker, his son, and a famed French winemaker. One sip and you’ll feel like you’re living the good life, even if you don’t have a house in the Hamptons or the South of France.

Idris Elba

Luther actor Idris Elba has copped onto the fact that big names can make big bucks in wine so last year he partnered with two different French estates to release a Chardonnay, a rosé and a champagne. He came up with the idea to release a Champagne label after a trip with his wife, Sabrina Dhowre.

Dan Aykroy

The ‘Ghostbusters’ star partnered with artist John Alexander to create this special, sugar-free spirit called Crystal Head. Sold in a skull-shaped bottle, the vodka is free of additives and is filtered multiple times through semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds, all a bit . It sounds a bit over the top bit it gets you drunk and it comes in for a cool bottle of vodka.

The Breaking Bad stars concocted the plan to release a mezcal (similar to tequila) while chatting.

Named ‘Dos Hombres’ (Meaning two men and tipping the cap to the Spanish themes in the show that brought them together) the spirit is “unique blend of the finest Espadin agave, hand-selected from the hillsides near a small village in Oaxaca, Mexico.
