Go Dazzle!

Go Dazzle!

Go Dazzle!

A dog called Dazzle bowled over the players and spectators at the Women's All-Ireland Cricket semi-final when he invaded the pitch and stole the ball.

Bready Cricket Club and Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNI) were playing out the closing match when a dog appeared out of nowhere and nabbed the cricket ball.

The players and commentators were left in hysterics as Dazzle snatched up the loose ball from the outfield, with its owner desperately trying to chase it down.

The spectacle was caught on camera and has been viewed 4.5 million times with sports commentator Heatley Tector narrating the moment in between laughter.

"The dog has the ball!" Tector declares in the video before he begins laughing as the dog runs around the playing field with the ball in his mouth, and his lead trailing along the ground after him.

Players run after the pup who looks like he's enjoying the chase.

Fortunately, batter Aoife Fisher managed to coax the dog over to her and retrieve the ball, with the commentators joking that it would probably now "need a clean."

"I think this has brought Covid regulations to a whole new standard," they laugh.

It was revealed that the dog's name is Dazzle and showing their appreciation for the moment of laughter the International Cricket Council has named him their honorary player of the month.
