'Unfair' Why do women face backlash for their men's bad behaviour?

And do I need to lawyer up?

What's the statute of limitations for the crime of having bad taste in men?

Is it more than that for speeding, assault or indecent exposure as random examples?

And, if so, do I need to lawyer up?

MMA star Conor McGregor once more hit headlines after being arrested for allegedly flashing in Corsica last weekend.

But, yet again, it was his devoted fiancée Dee Devlin who faced the harshest judgement in the court of public opinion.

The Crumlin brawler - who was released without charge after being quizzed by cops - slammed the allegations as a "set-up".

"Try set me up all yous f***ing want over and over and over the truth will always set me free!" he fumed in a now-deleted Facebook post on Tuesday. "Never will a dime be paid to anyone coming at me with vicious lies! Not now not f***ing ever!"

Now if only he'd come out swinging as strongly against those belittling his future wife for her choice of partner as well.

Loved-up Conor and Dee last month announced their engagement after 13 years and two children together.

And let's just say I hope the beaming bride-to-be didn't scroll too far down the well-wishes under the Instagram post.

Whatever you think of Conor McGregor - and I haven't been shy in criticising the 32-year-old for some of his past behaviour in this column - leave Dee out of it.

Unlike her fiancé, from what I can see, the only thing she is Notorious for is being in love.

The couple met in a nightclub not long after the then 19 year-old quit his job as a plumber to pursue his mixed martial arts dream.

Three title belts (and a number of arrests) later, if she's happy to say 'I Do' to 25 years to life as Mrs McGregor, then good luck to her.

Before I tap out though let me ask you this.

Why is it that we always seem quicker to pass sentence on blameless women than hold their other halves to account?

Colleen Rooney caught similar heat for forgiving philandering husband Wayne in 2004 and in 2010 and again in 2011...

In the case of former First Lady Hillary Clinton, standing by her man may have even cost her the US presidency four years ago.

Like all three women, I've hitched my wagon to a bad boy or two in my time. But I'm not responsible if any of them lob a trolley at a bus or allegedly whip it out on holidays.

Thankfully, these days, I've got the good sense to bail early rather than serve a life sentence.

If having questionable taste in men is a crime though - I guess I'll UFC you in court.
