Tragic Pensioner killed in car crash in Bellinter, Co Meath

Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses after a pensioner was killed in a single car crash in Co Meath. 

The woman in her 70s was the driver and only person in the car that was involved in the collision in the Bellinter area.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 1pm, however, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has later removed to Navan mortuary where a post-mortem is due to take place.

“Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward,” gardai said. “They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on this road at the time with camera footage to make this available to them.”
