A man is being quizzed by gardai after a raid in Monaghan on Monday where €150,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants and herb were discovered. 

Gardaí attached to Carrickmacross Garda Station carried out a search of a house under Operation Tara at approximately 9pm.

“During the course of the search approximately €150,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants and dried cannabis herb was located and seized,” gardai said.

“A man in his early 20s was arrested at the scene and he is currently detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drugs Trafficking Act 1996.”
