Gardaí are investigating an assault on two ambulance personnel who were responding to an incident at a house in Tullamore Town yesterday. 

The two men reported that they had been assaulted by a man in the Cluin Darrach area of Tullamore at approximately 3pm.

They both attended hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Two members (men) of the emergency services (ambulance) reported to have been assaulted by a man in the area,” gardai said.

“Gardaí have arrested a man, aged in his 30s, in relation to this incident. He was detained at Tullamore Garda Station and has since been charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning at 10.30am.
