1. THE OZARKS Show: OZARK FEW of us were familiar with the dramatic highlands straddling north Arkansas and south Missouri before the Byrde family relocated there in 2017. Although the Netflix hit, which has just returned for its final episodes, is mostly filmed in Georgia, its sweeping shots of the Ozarks (not to mention its iconic shot of the ‘Welcome to the Lake of the Ozarks’ sign) have put the area on the map outside the US. Skip the money-laundering and murder bit, and go straight to the breathtaking boating, biking and hiking it offers instead.

.

2: SEATTLE Show: GREY’S ANATOMY IT’S survived a mass shooting, earthquake and flood, and an incredible 18 seasons on, Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is still going strong. While the majority of filming takes place in an LA studio, the medical drama is also the ultimate travel guide to Seattle from Pike Place Market to Fremont Bridge and the Space Needle. Of course, true fans will be straight up to Poo Poo Point where the ill-fated MerDer built their dream house.

.

3: WASHINGTON Show: IMPEACHMENT RECALLING the Clinton scandal of 1998, the latest American Crime Story is sure to have whet the appetite of politicos planning a trip to the US capital. Despite being filmed in LA, its amazing replica of the Oval Office was like being in The White House. Although a long shot, it’s possible for foreign visitors to see inside the real 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue by applying for a free tour through a member of Congress.

.

4: NEW YORK CITY Show: AND JUST LIKE THAT AND just like that... a direct flight to NYC is calling once more. Just as Sex and the City made Magnolia Bakery and The Plaza Hotel must-sees for fans visiting the Big Apple in the noughties, now the spin-off has updated the list for the twenty-twenties. With a second season on the way, there’s plenty of time to swing by Smith’s Bar in Hell’s Kitchen (where Miranda tried to order a glass of wine at 10.45am) or Greene Naftali Gallery in Chelsea (where Mr Big’s funeral took place). But surely top of the list is still 66 Perry Street in West Village — Carrie’s beloved ‘Upper East Side’ brownstone which famously featured in both shows. Just don’t ring the doorbell as it’s privately owned.

.

5: HAWAII Show: THE WHITE LOTUS LET’S face it, no one in their right mind would want to stay in the fictional White Lotus. The Four Seasons Resort Maui — where the lockdown sensation was filmed — is another story. Start saving because season two is set to do for Sicily what the first did for the Paradise of the Pacific.

.

6: GEORGIA Show: THE WALKING DEAD IT’S one of the most memorable moments in recent television history — deputy sheriff Rick Grimes approaching a deserted Atlanta on horseback after waking from a coma to a zombie apocalypse. Jackson Street Bridge overlooks the exact spot, with the cultural phenomenon — ending this year — also highlighting other parts of the pretty Peach State such as Senoia.

.

7: HIGHWAY 1 Show: BIG LITTLE LIES IF the image of Nicole Kidman cruising along the Monterey coastline with the wind in her hair doesn’t make you want to pack your bags to embark on an epic US road trip, nothing will.

Set on the Pacific Coast Highway, Bixby Bridge is one of the most photographed bridges in California (and that’s saying something considering the state also boasts the Golden Gate Bridge), even more so since featuring on the opening credits of HBO’s Big Little Lies since 2017.

Actually located in Big Sur, about 18 miles south of Monterey where the award-winning show is set, stop on the north side of highway for the money shot.

.

8: LONG ISLAND Show: SUCCESSION ALTHOUGH mostly set in bustling NYC, Succession made good use of those Waystar Royco helicopters, showcasing locations from Iceland to Italy during its three seasons so far. But it’s the Roy family’s holiday home in the beautiful Hamptons that has us dusting down our passport for a convivial game of ‘Boar on the Floor’. And, good news, you can stay in the 1960 Henry Ford Estate in nearby Southampton, which doubles as the ‘Summer Palace’ on the show, complete with 12 bedrooms, a six-car garage and 60ft pool, for €185,000 a week.

.

9: NEW MEXICO Show: BETTER CALL SAUL LIKE Breaking Bad before it, Better Call Saul — which has just returned to Netflix for the final time — has been credited with boosting tourism in the city of Albuquerque, where both shows were set and filmed. And from its famous green chile cheeseburger to the majestic Rio Grande Valley and hot air balloon festival, it’s not hard to see why. As Jimmy McGill (star Bob Odenkirk) himself put it: “There’s something about this place.”

.

10: DELAWARE COUNTY Show: MARE OF EASTTOWN RAINY Pennsylvania may not seem like an obvious choice for your next US getaway. But HBO murder-mystery Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet isn’t putting holidaymakers off. Au contraire, after Delco cops — to use the vernacular — urged visitors to keep away from the family home in Warrington used as Detective Mare Sheehan’s house in the show. Amid speculation that the ‘one-off’ will be back, you’ve been warned.
