Hook it to my veins and call me Kim Kardashian because I've fallen for the celebrity-endorsed vitamin drip hook, line and sinker.

Beloved by stars including Adele, Rihanna and Jane Fonda for it's health and glow-boosting properties, the A-list treatment has landed on Irish shores and the Sunday World was the first to be plugged into the craze.

Costing anywhere between €85 to €950 for a single dose, Ireland's first standalone 'Get A Drip' clinic in Dublin's Castleknock is bringing a tailored selection of intravenous delights to the country.

Looking for red-carpet-worthy skin, lush locks or to boost to your metabolism or increase your energy levels?

Or maybe you're on the market for a custom cocktail? Don't sweat, it's on the menu. If you're on a budget you can still get in on the health kick with the plush salon's booster shots that start from €35 and tackle everything from Vitamin D to Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Once only available to UK customers, Irish businesswoman and mum-of-three Jean O'Leary was determined to bring the venture to Irish shores after discovering the benefits of the vitamin boost as a customer on regular visits to London.

"As a mother of three, I know all about the challenges of beating fatigue and needing to recharge the batteries. It really helped transform my energy levels and mood.

"Once you have your initial consultation over it's quick and easy. The treatment is fast acting and effective because it bypasses the gastrointestinal tract, meaning that 100% of vitamins and nutrients are absorbed directly into the body."

Raring to go I proffered my arm to resident nurse, Dee Howley, after filling out an extensive medical form which was approved by the clinic's doctor.

Taking Kim Kardashian's lead who famously used an IV drip to get red carpet ready for the Met Gala, I opted for the Skin Health Drip, which came in at €250 followed by a Slim Shot, €55, which promises to boost your metabolism.

Grimacing in anticipation I felt a pinch and the cannula was in. Painless. Despite the dramatic snaps posted by celeb fans like Cara Delevingne, Kelly Osbourne and Rita Ora, having the IV drip plugged into my arm was easy.

My fearless photographer, Gerry, followed suit and was hooked up to an energy- boosting drip.

Sipping bottled water, I watched as a litre of vitamin-laced liquid trickled into my vein.

Then came the booster shot straight to the arm.

Forty-five minutes later I headed straight to a mirror to check out my metamorphosis.

No Kim K, but I could feel the wonder elixir coursing through my body as I imagined a glow-up of epic proportions.

The state-of-the art clinic may offer everything from anti-ageing to health and skin drips, but this isn't just about vanity.

While Covid delayed the clinic's opening, it has also been a springboard for people looking to boost their immunity and overall wellness.

Store manager Rachel Manzoni said: "People are very much thinking of their health and protecting their immune system.

Last week a woman visited the clinic who was suffering with long Covid. She was complaining of fatigue and really low energy.

She had an energy drip and a detox and wrote to us the next days to tell us explain that she hadn't had this much energy in the longest time."

Speaking of the clientele so far Rachel said there has been a huge number of people taking up the jabs and drips.

"We don't have one customer, we have people coming in from all walks of life. We have fitness enthusiasts and 85-year-olds."

With the each treatment, on average, designed to last a month, Jean revealed that some clients seek out a hangover cure but there is so much more on offer.

Three days post drip and my skin is plump, hydrated and dare I say it, glowing.
