This week I am recommending a gorgeous new Rosé and a vegan Sauvignon Blanc

19 Crimes Revolutionary Rosé

2020 Cono Sur Savignon Blanc

Jean Smullen

This week I recommend a brand-new Rosé and a vegan Sauvignon Blanc from one of Chile’s best known organic wine producers.

19 Crimes Revolutionary Rosé €11 (reduced from €15)

Look out for Revolutionary Rosé, new to the 19 Crimes range. The 19 Crimes wines are inspired by people who were transported to Australia for a life of hard labour. For those who survived the journey, a new world awaited. This wine honours the history they wrote and the culture they built.

The Revolutionary Rosé is a dry style Rosé made in Spain from the Grenache grape and is perfect for summer drinking. It has lots of floral aromas with a hint of strawberry. When you taste, it has flavours of raspberry and a lovely dry finish. Serve with stuffed red peppers.

2020 Cono Sur Savignon Blanc

2020 Cono Sur Sauvignon Blanc €14

Cono Sur will tell the story of sustainable wine farming from their specially adapted tasting van. You will find it on Saturday 11th June outside Dundrum SC where you can sample their wines. Cono Sur wines are made from organically grown grapes certified by the BCS Öeko Garantie GmbH.

The range includes this Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Malbec and a red blend. This fresh zippy white is produced in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley, it has tropical aromas and citrus fruit flavours and loads of fresh acidity. Serve this with beetroot and goats cheese salad.
