Working the room
Who says office outfits have to be stuffy? Give your wardrobe a style promotion with some fierce workwear, writes Denise Smith
Working from home is getting a little tiresome now, don’t you think? In lieu of actual people, I’ve started to have in-depth conversations with my robot hoover and on particularly bad days, I even have pangs of nostalgia for those lunctimes I was forced to queue for the microwave only to realise my homemade lunch was ‘misplaced’ from the fridge.
Which is to say, when I make my triumphant return to the office I intend to suit up and make an entrance. Everyone from Dolce & Gabbana to Fendi got the memo that power dressing is back. But while their catwalk iterations were paired with bras and bikini tops, you can still make a statement in your 9 to 5 without flasing your smalls.
From faux leather co-ords to sky blue blazer suits, Penneys is leading the charge when it comes to dressing on the job. Waistcoats, skorts and skirts in striped and boucle design are also a major power play.
Or for a more relaxed vibe, pair your favourite denims with a poppy- hued blazer for added impact.
Whatever your brief, work the dresscode.
