Say yes to the dress
As we inch closer to warm weather, these in-demand Irish designers have created some stunning collections of flowy and floral frocks to help you stand out at any summer occasion, writes Denise Smith
Spring has finally sprung which can only mean one thing, your social calendar is also blooming. After one too many season’s of being a proverbial wallflower, it’s time to accept the slew of outstanding invitations invading your inbox, and more importatnly, it’s time to say yes to an infinite number of dresses that will see you through spring, summer and beyond.
In our dress edit, Magazine Plus is championing Irish design, and the slow, sustainable brands that make playing dress up such a joy. From AoifeMcNamara’s etheral designs to fee G’s breathtaking feminine silhouettes, there won’t be a wedding, christening or birthday party where you won’t be placed on the best dressed list. If you’re looking to add some nostalgia to your capsule, Circus is a must for retro-inspired prints and vintage florals. I also invite you not to fall in love with the romantic boho spirit of FéRí. The latest collection is awash with freeflowing summer dresses with embroideried detail made from tumbled organic cottons in happy hues of sun drenched citrus orange and pinks.
The highstreet also prevails, and Dunnes Store’s achingly beautiful Savida collection will be a mainstay in your wardrobe. So without further ado, prepare to be the season’s diamond.
