The honest beauty column
The latest beauty drops are here, so without further ado, here are some of the must-buy blushers, bronzers, shadows and lipsticks I’m lusting after this season. Admittedly, this haul doesn’t come cheap — which is why I’m thinking of them as self-care investments, and you should too.
Yves Saint Laurent NU Lip and Cheek Balmy Tint, €22.95 WHAT’S not to love about this skincare-makeup hybrid infused with orange blossom, hyaluronic acid and shea butter? Offering a hydrating flush of colour that melts seamlessly onto the skin, this buildable beauty can be used on both lips and cheeks. There are three fabulous shades to choose from: Flush, Chills and Pinch.
Lancôme Idôle Nectar Eau De Parfum, €92 CAN we take a moment for this impossibly chic refillable bottle? But what’s more impressive is Lancôme’s charge towards sustainably sourced ingredients. Safeguarding the women who cultivate the Isparta rose in Turkey, expect a sun-kissed floral infusion with lush top notes that you’ll want to spritz all day long. This isn’t just the scent of the summer, it’s a fragrance that stands up for the future. And it’s one I’m planning on adding to my beauty shelf come pay day.
Chanel Oversize Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed Powder, €75 YOU might not be able to afford a Chanel bag, but here is the next best thing. I’ll give you a moment to ogle the dreamy packaging before we get into it. For a natural bronzed look, this ultra-lightweight cream-powder is calling you. You can dive into three shades ranging in intensity for a subtly sun-kissed complexion. To extend the radiance, simply apply the super-sized powder to the shoulders, arms and neckline. It will be the best money you ever spend to glow on the go.
Giorgio Armani Lip Power, €38 IF you’re looking to perfect your pout, look no further. This cult lipstick is enriched with oils to nourish your smackers. The highly pigmented formula means you can expect intense coverage that lasts all day. Soft nude or electric red, there’s a matching hue for you.
Lancôme Le 8 Hypnôse Mascara, €37.50 I’M going to wager that your go-to mascara is more than three months old. If that’s the case, for hygiene and health reasons, you need an upgrade. This slick stick delivers volume, and conditions and strengthens lashes thanks to a blend of eight amino acids and conditioning black balm enriched with shea butter. Upon application, it creates an instantly full-bodied luscious lash look.So what are you waiting for?
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise, €30 UNLOCK the secret to gorgeous, glowing eyes with Charlotte’s newest beauty drop. From mesmerising metallic Sunlit Glow to eye-enhancing Exagger-eyes and sunset-inspired Golden Eclipse, these limited-edition cream eyeshadows are a must this summer. I’m loving Sunlit Glow (pictured), a dreamy, multi-dimensional golden-pink hue that makes every eye colour pop. Apply using your fingers on its own or dab a little on top of your usual eyeshadow to dial up any makeup look in an instant.
Urban Decay Naked Wild West Mini Eyeshadow Palette, €32 STRIKE gold with Urban Decay’s desert-inspired neutrals. The all-new mini palette stars six ultra-creamy, blendable shadows lasting up to 12 hours. Easy to stash in your bag, the vegan palette also features the perfect mix of mattes and shimmers, so you’ll be ready to lasso every look.
