Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF50

Call me optimist — but I’m hoping the unusually balmy weather we’re enjoying is here to stay, so I’m lashing on my most skin-friendly sun protection and dreaming of a perrenial summer. SPF isn’t just for the high season, you should be slathering it on every single day — here are my faves.

Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF50, €33.30
WHY spray, slather or rub SPF in when you can just glide it all over your face with a nifty suncare stick?
Protecting against dark spots, it should also be your go-to if you’re taking a dip. Thanks to Synchro Shield technology, the lotion becomes even stronger when met with water. Perfect for touch-ups, it also has an invisible finish.

Avène Antirougeurs Unify Tinted Moisturiser SPF30, €23
I’VE suffered with red, blotchy skin so I know first-hand how it can impact your confidence. On bad skin days, I didn’t want to leave the house — so finding a tinted moisturiser that soothed my skin and also filtered out my redness was a bit of a game changer.
This petite French beauty won’t solve all your skin concerns but it will correct redness for up to six hours. Containing anti-irritating actives that diffuse irritation and tightness, while also pumping your skin with hydration, this one is for any of my fellow rosacea gals.

Skinician Revitalising Day Moisturiser SPF30, €30
IF your beauty routine lasts longer than your morning commute, you can cut your regime in half with a two-in-one SPF moisturiser.
A personal favourite of mine is this lightweight, non-greasy, triple-action moisturiser. Formulated to deliver long lasting hydration, while protecting the skin from the sun’s rays, it’s packed with nutrients to keep normal, dry and even sensitive skin in optimal condition.
Botanical B glucans and aloe vera will pump hydration into the skin while promising to prevent hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

Image Prevention + Daily Matte Moisturiser SPF32, €47.50
IF my house was burning down, this is what I’d run back in for.
Perfect for combination, oily or acne-prone skin types, not only does it protect against harmful UV rays, but it doubles up as a hydrating primer giving your foundation an oh-so flawless finish.

Anti-Age Super UV Protection Cream SPF50, €11
WHAT’S better than an SPF that costs 11 quid, you ask? One that reduces the appearance of wrinkles by up to 22pc as well as reducing the appearance of dark spots for 11 quid.
Specially developed for the face and delicate eye contour area, this daily formula contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to leave the skin looking hydrated, smooth and firmer. Bargain.

MEET your invisible parasol. Ideal for mature and sensitive skin, this anti-ageing sun cream guards against UVA and UVB rays, keeping wrinkles and dark spots at bay.
As well as moisturising hyaluronic acid and a burst of the brand’s famous thermal spring water, it boasts anti-pollution and anti-oxidation technology for an added layer of protection.
