The honest beauty column
The end of January is so deliciously close, with that in mind I think we are all deserving of a little pamper time to congratulate ourselves for getting through the bleakest month of the year. Selfcare however isn’t just for January, so take some of my favourite pick-me-up products into February and beyond.
Foreo Luna 3 Face Brush And Anti-Ageing Massager, €199.99
SUPERCHARGE your cleansing regime with this high-tech facial brush, available for normal, sensitive and combination skin.
Available from foreo.com, and with four massage modes, it boasts medical-grade silicone bristles to banish dirt, oil and dead skin without compromising the skin’s natural barrier. But, I can’t lie, my favourite bit is the massage mode used afterwards.
Elemis Skin Wellness Kit, €62
EVERYONE needs some spa-worthy products in their arsenal. Enter Elemis — the UK’s leading luxury skincare brand.
This deluxe kit includes five AM-to-PM essentials to give you that round-the-clock glow you’ve been dreaming of. Start with the Pro-Collage Cleansing Balm to melt impurities away before getting your double cleanse on with the Superfood Facial Wash.
Next, gently slough away all those dead skin cells with the Dynamic Resurfacing Pads and slather on some Superfood Day Cream, a vitamin-rich moisturiser that nourishes skin deeply. Finally, hop into bed with the Superfood Midnight Facial, which floods thirsty skin with hydration while you sleep.
Magnitone SteamAhead Hydrating Facial Micro Steamer, €40
IF you have clogged or dry skin, or just want to enjoy the feel of a facial at home, it could be time for things to get a little steamy.
Available from littlewoodsireland.ie, this nifty device uses deionised microsteam particles for a gentle, deeper clean — see you later, dead skin cells. Just 10 minutes a day will leave skin healthier, more hydrated, as well as better able to absorb all those fancy lotions and potions.
Dr. Jart+ Cryo Rubber Mask with Moisturising Hyaluronic Acid, €11.30
INSPIRED by cryotherapy, this cooling mask is ideal for pampering dry or puffy skin. The two-step treatment combines a hyaluronic acid ampoule with a moisture-locking rubber mask to help skin soak up the powerful serum. Result? A radiant complexion in 30 minutes flat.
Patchology Perfect 10 Self-warming Hand Mask, €10
YOUR digits are always deserving of some TLC, and here’s a truly out-of-this-world product for your paws.
The self-warming hand masks use the same insulation technology as space blankets to lock in your natural body heat to allow the coconut-infused formula inside to better penetrate the skin.
Ten glorious minutes later, chapped and dry hands are rejuvenated, cuticles are softened, and you’re just that bit more relaxed. To infinity and beyond.
Neom Organics London Scent To Sleep Perfect Night’s Sleep Body Oil, €43
JUST the smell of this product is enough to send me off to slumber, which is exactly why I apply the luxurious elixir from top to toe when I’m in need of some quality shut eye.
Not only does it help me to nod off more easily, but packed with a beautifying blend of 19 essential oils including English lavender, sweet basil and jasmine, the award-winning body oil keeps my skin feeling silky smooth too.
Sunday Riley Clean Rinse Clarifying Scalp Serum, €42
I’LL be the first to admit that sometimes my scalp needs a good scrub. Infused with such super scrubbers as glycolic acid and salicylic acid, as well as soothing jasmine oil, this rinse-off serum helps rid your head of product buildup, excess oil and dead skin for a healthier scalp and refreshed hair.
