Valentine's Bae Dating expert Sharon Kenny offers advice to those looking for love in 2021

Sharon reckons that dates on Zoom are even better than dates in real life as it means there is no more arguing over who pays the bill.

The coronavirus pandemic has put a strain on all of our social lives, but it has particularly affected those looking for love.

Singles all over the world have been struggling to create romantic connections in these unprecedented times, so love guru Sharon Kenny has shared some Covid-friendly dating tips just in time for Valentine’s Day.

An expert in her field, Sharon’s job is to meet clients, investigate their profiles to find what they are looking for, and help them find love. She plays Cupid through her matchmaking service at www.thematchmaker.ie.

In an exclusive video, matchmaker Sharon reveals her dating suggestions and maintains that all hope is not lost when it comes to romance.

“As a matchmaker, my job is to not only make sure that your profiles match, but that your situations during Covid match as well,” she begins.

She explains that it’s natural for us as humans to crave connection and intimacy, especially in the run up to Valentine’s Day.

“Loneliness will be the next pandemic.”

Although the pandemic has made the quest for love more difficult in most cases, Sharon thinks that our shared experiences of quarantine actually give us something to bond over.

“More people over this time are falling in love through online dating because conversations are up 20%.”

“They appreciate that that person is going through exactly what they’re going through.”

In fact, Sharon reckons that dates on Zoom are even better than dates in real life as it means there is no more arguing over who pays the bill. Plus, she teases, you only have to be dressed from the torso up.

For those worried that they’ve lost their touch when it comes to dating, Sharon provides reassurance: “Do not be afraid to give that person a compliment with a smile. It actually can show confidence when you do it.”

“You have to be thoughtful and considerate and if you’re worried about that conversation stopping, just ask a question.”

“Go out there, have fun. Be respectful, be kind, and most of all look after your interests because you’ll attract the same back.”
