Ask Dr Angela: How can I last an hour in bed?
Couple in bed
Dear Angela,
When my girlfriend (23) and I (28) have sex, I normally come within 15 minutes. My girlfriend is happy with that - she often even manages to come twice before I climax. But still, I love sex so much, that I'd really like to last longer. The odd time, I get close to 20 minutes, but when I try to last longer, I become too sensitive and in the end, I lose my erection.
I don't understand why that happens, and it's so frustrating. Should I keep trying? Will I eventually be able to last for, let's say, an hour or so?
ANGELA SAYS:
Some men can last for an hour or even longer, but most guys can't delay their orgasm for that long - not even with lots of practice and years of experience. If you try to hold back for too long, your body refuses to play along at some stage. You become oversensitive or even lose your erection, and that's the end of your fun.
So don't overdo it, don't push your body too much. If you are determined to last longer, set yourself a realistic goal, like 20 to 30 minutes.
