There’s some good news for sun worshippers who managed to get out and enjoy today’s absolute fantastic weather as it is set to continue for another couple of days.

However, the advice from Met Eireann is to make the most of it as scattered showers will dampen the blue skies over the weekend.

Highest temperatures are hovering between 11 and a balmy 14 degrees this afternoon in largely dry conditions with bright, sunny spells.

Met Eireann tweeted: “This afternoon and evening will be mainly dry with sunny spells. A few isolated showers may develop. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees, coolest in the east of Leinster, with light east or southeast breezes. It will be warmest in the west.”

And while a few isolated showers may develop later, tomorrow will see the mercury creep back up to between 11 and 15 degrees. However, there may be a bit more cloud around during the afternoon and a chance of one or two isolated light showers.

Friday will be another dry day, with light to moderate southerly breezes, although the early morning sunshine will be replaced by cloudier skies moving in from the west.

Temperatures will be lower, at between 9 to 12 degrees Celsius while Saturday will also see more bright, sunny spells before cloudy outbreaks of rain gradually move into Atlantic counties.

For the rest of the weekend and into Monday it will be cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain, although Leinster can expect some more good, sunny spells.

And there’s more good news as next week will see more high pressure building, bringing more, mostly fine and settled weather.
