witness appeal Sligo road where woman was seriously injured in three-vehicle collision reopens
The woman who was the driver of a car was rushed to Sligo University Hospital where she remains in a critical condition
Gardai have reopened a section of the main Sligo to Donegal road (N15) where a woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision on Monday evening.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Moneygold, Grange where a car, a van and a lorry had been involved in an incident at approximately 3.45pm.
It is understood that the lorry, which was carrying a load of milk, had swerved to avoid colliding with two other vehicles which had already been involved in a collision, when it caught fire after hitting a wall.
The woman who was the driver of a car was rushed to Sligo University Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
There were no other injuries reported.
The road was closed and traffic diversions put place as Sligo City Firefighters personnel brought the fire under control.
Gardaí remained at the scene last night as investigations continued.
