The PSNI uncovered a cannabis factory following an operation in County Fermanagh.

The factory was discovered in the Newtownbutler area yesterday, and a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

He is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

A total of 42 adult plants and equipment used to cultivate cannabis were seized during the operation.

Inspector Darryl Johnston said: “This was a significant discovery by officers working to keep the community safe. Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who has information that could assist us should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1744 of 10/05/21.

"Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
