Gun tragedy Man dies in shooting in Finglas, north Dublin

A man in his 20s has been shot dead in north Dublin.

The horrifying shooting took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Deanstown Avenue area of Finglas, Dublin 11.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene at approximately 4:30am where a man was discovered with a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A garda spokesperson revealed: "The coroner has been notified and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination to be carried out by the State Pathologist.

"The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination to be conducted by the Garda Technical Bureau.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

"Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow."
