class act Kellie Harrington proves to be star of Late Late Show as she reveals marriage plans
The Olympic gold medallist, who is engaged to her fiancé Mandy Loughlin, will tie the knot in in April
Irish boxer Kellie Harrington delighted viewers of last night’s Late Late Show special by revealing that she is getting married next month.
Kellie was the star of the Saint Patrick's Day episode as she also treated the audience to an impromptu rendition of Grace by Jim McCann.
But it was the news that the Olympic gold medallist, who is engaged to her fiancé Mandy Loughlin, will tie the knot in in April that prompted an outpouring of joy on social media.
As she chatted on the couch with presenter Ryan Tubridy, the boxer shared that she is excited to marry her long-term partner.
"You guys are getting married soon, is that right? What's the date or where is it?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, we're getting married next month, yeah next month," Kellie confirmed.
"So it's close, yeah," she said.

Her partner Mandy who was also present on stage, as part of the guests for the show and Kellie have been together for 13 years after first meeting in a boxing club in Bray.
Even though Kellie thought the Dublin southsider seemed a bit "cocky" at first they have been together ever since.
Kellie appeared on the show, following her grand marshal duties at this year's Dublin city parade, alongside Irish-American actor John C Reilly, the overseas guest of honour.

Kellie then mesmerised viewers with her poignant performance of the famous Irish song Grace as she encouraged the studio audience to sing with her.
Taking to Twitter, people praised Kellie, saying: "Just in total awe of how fabulous Kellie Harrington and John C. Reilly's singing was. A fantastic way to start the show!"
Another wrote: "@kellieharrington's face when John C Reilly sang @raglanroad or @Kellieharrington's version of Grace? I'm not saying I cried but someone definitely cried!".
A third added: "The singing on the @RTELateLateShow tonight has been immense. And the singers were an actor and a boxer. Massive well done to #JohnCReilly and #KellieHarrington for entertaining us with their beautiful voices and fabulous choice of songs. Loved them".
A fourth commented: "Brilliant late late show For a St Patrick's day Kellie Harrington and John C Reilly belting out Irish songs".
"This girl does Ireland proud", another person declared.
Others paid tribute to the Olympian for her excellent job as grand marshal.
They said: "Kellie Harrington is an absolute treasure. The parade stopped today & she spoke to every child around her, asked what sports they played told them to never give up. Smiling from ear to ear & showing everyone her medal."
The 32-year-old, who returned from Bulgaria last month with a gold medal in the lightweight division of the International Strandja tournament, also said she would be heading back to work this weekend in St Vincent's hospital.
She said: "I'm still in there - I've had a bit of time off as I was getting ready to go to Bulgaria. But I'm back in there [St Vincent's Hospital] on Saturday and Sunday."
Kellie said she loves her job working as part of the cleaning staff at the psychiatric hospital and told how her gold medal doesn't define her.
"It doesn't define us, the medal. It's an Olympic gold medal - it's a nice thing to have, but I'm also a nice person - I think so, anyways."
