Conor McGregor has come under fire after he shared a video of himself buying a bottle of his own Proper 12 whisky in a Co Kildare shop without wearing a mask.

The Notorious posted the clip on his Instagram page which shows him brandishing the bottle in the local shop in Straffan while asking staff on how well the whiskey has been selling.

He captions the post: "Shop Local."

Due to laws making the wearing of a mask mandatory in shops in Ireland, McGregor risks being fined €80 and could face a potential punishments of a further €1,000 fine or a month’s imprisonment

The 32-year-old former two-weight world champion has been slammed on social media for not following Covid rules.

"Ya selling number 12 and how's sales going," he asks a masked member of staff. "Is this the second last bottle," he adds after being told it's selling well.

He offers to buy it, adding his thanks and appreciation "as it means a lot to me to see the support."

He jokes about the price before asking for a receipt.

He then promises to get a display into the shop to help sales.

However, in the comments section not everyone is impressed.

"Where is you mask," asks one person.

Another adds: “Show some respect and wear a mask FFs," adds another.

"You sure are a champ but you must wear your damn mask, man,” adds another
