Missing Galway man Stephen Cunningham was spotted on CCTV twice in the days following his disappearance.

The 32-year-old has been missing from his home in Ballybrit, Co Galway since November 2nd.

Based on investigations to date, Gardai have released CCTV images of the man who was spotted the same week he vanished.

Stephen was seen at Gannon’s Filling Station in Westport, Mayo on November 5th, and at Dunnes Stores in Briar Hill, Galway the following day on November 6th.

In both CCTV images, Stephen is wearing the same outfit. A waist length cream/beige hooded jacket, blue jeans and beige shoes.

Stephen is described as being approximately 6' 2" in height with a thin build, blue eyes, sandy/blond hair and may have a beard/unshaven.

Days later on November 10th his car, a silver Volkswagen Passat (08 G 3521), was found parked at Bunnakill, Maam Cross, Galway. Gardaí believe his car may have been parked there since November 7th.

Gardaí are continuing to carry out multi-agency searches in the area.

Both authorities and Stephen’s family are concerned for his welfare.

Taking to Facebook, Stephen’s sister commented on the CCTV footage.

“Yesterday evening An Garda Siochana shared footage with us of Stephen. These are the last known images we have of him and are sharing in the hope that it jogs people’s memory of what he is most likely still wearing.

“Again, we appeal to anyone who might have seen Stephen over the last few days to contact the Guards, no matter how wild a lead you think it is.

“Thank you again to everyone who shared, offered support and joined us in our search for Stephen,” she added. “Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!”

The family have been searching extensively in the area where his car was found.

“My heart is absolutely broken returning home again without any spotting of Stephen. I’m tired. I’m worried. I’m trying to hold on to every little bit of hope I have that he will be found and he will be well,” she said in another post.

An Garda Síochána are appealing to landowners in the Bunnakill, Maam Cross area to check any sheds, outhouses or other remote buildings on their land.
