NUDE AWAKENING: Top 10 Naturist Resorts
IRISH nudists who want to holiday at home get a bum deal. While the naturist community here is growing, the facilities for those who dare to bare are limited. And, apart for the odd week-long heat wave, our weather isn’t exactly conducive to having a break in the buff.
The INA (Irish Naturist’s Association) is currently campaigning for the provision of officially approved clothing optional beaches and, according to its website, organises monthly naturist swimming sessions in Dublin and monthly swim, sauna and Jacuzzi sessions in Cahir, Co. Tipperary. Naturist families and couples who are members of Club Aquarius meet to swim in an indoor pool in Dublin bi-monthly, while the SNC (Southern Naturist Club), based in the Cork/Limerick area, organises similar events in the South West.
But if you really want to feel the sun on your skin, jetting off is your best bet. Not just for the Germans anymore, the ‘free body culture’ is growing in popularity, with chic new resorts popping up all over the world, offering nudist holiday makers the chance to reconnect with all things natural.
The world’s largest online hotel search site, trivago, has picked exclusively for SWM its top 10 nudists hotels. So log on to www.trivago.ie if you feel like it’s time to take the shakles off and go naked.
