US police have released footage of shooters who are wanted in connection with the murder of rapper Young Dolph.

The Chicago born star was gunned down in Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday 17th November while visiting a local bakery to pick up cookies for his mother.

The 36-year-old, real name Adolph Thornton Jr, was a regular at the store and had promoted the cookie shop on social media the week prior to his death.

Snaps from the scene show two unidentified men, who pulled up outside the store in a white Mercedes Benz, wielding guns. One appears to be carrying a semi-automatic rifle with the other brandishing a handgun.

The men were dressed in dark hoodies, grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Both shooters appear to be wearing face masks to hide their identities. A snap taken as the men fled, shows broken glass from the store on the ground, indicating they shot through the front of the bakery at their target.

Although no arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing.

A statement published by investigators called for anyone with information to get in touch with Crimestoppers.

“On November 17th 2021 at 12.24pm, officers responded to a shooting call at 2370 Airways Boulevard. Officers located an unresponsive male victim lying on the floor of the business with multiple gunshot wounds.”

“The male victim has been positively identified as Adolph Thornton Jr, 36. Mr. Thornton was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“Investigators obtained video surveillance which shows two suspects exit a white two-door Mercedes Benz armed with guns. The suspects approached the victim while he was inside the business and shot the victim several times. The suspects then fled the scene.”

Just hours after the fatal shooting, fans and television news crews flocked to the scene where Adolph’s camouflage Corvette remained parked before it was towed away by police.

Fans left flowers, teddies, balloons and tributes to the hip-hop star. Many fans called for an end to gun violence with politicians London Lamar and J. B. Smiley calling for a curfew in Memphis to prevent civil unrest and violence.

Back in September 2017, Young Dolph was shot three times in Hollywood, Los Angeles and was not expected to survive as his condition was listed as critical.

However a few hours later, Doctors reported that he was going to survive the incident.

The then 32-year-old remained in hospital for two weeks recovering.

Memphis born rapper Yo Gotti was initially named as a person of interest in the attempted murder, but he was later cleared. A friend of Gotti, real name Mario Sentell Giden Mims, was arrested in connection with the incident also. Corey McClendon was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, but was later released without charge. No one has been charged with the attempt on Thornton’s life.

Adolph Thornton Jr is a cousin of rapper Juice Wrld who tragically died at an airport in Chicago in December 2019.

21-year-old Jarad Anthony Higgins died after he reportedly swallowed multiple unknown pills on board his private jet after he was notified that law enforcement were waiting for the jet to land in order to search it.

Police were notified by federal agents that they suspected there were drugs and guns on the aircraft. A search later found marijuana on board with Higgins’ management team reporting that he swallowed the pills in a bid to hide them from authorities.
