Reality TV star Dorit Kemsley has revealed that she had to beg for her life during a recent home invasion.

The 45-year-old who is a cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was confronted in her bed by two armed, masked men in dark clothing.

“I was completely taken off guard,” she told Extra.

“They were surprised to see me at home… When they did, they pushed me to the ground. They said, ‘Who else is in the home?’” Dorit’s son and daughter Jagger aged 7 and Phoenix aged 5 were asleep in their rooms during the robbery.

Dorit, who has starred on the Bravo show since 2016 told of how she had to beg for her life.

“There was someone else who said, ‘Just kill her, just kill her already, just kill her,’ and all I could think of, ‘I have to save those babies.’ I begged them, I begged for my life, and begged for their life,” she said of the chilling ordeal.

“I said, ‘I don’t care about any of it, take it all. You can have it all. Please, I’m a mother of babies. Please, they need me. Please don’t hurt me.”

“I stayed very calm because I knew they were very panicked and if I didn’t, the situation could have gone a lot worse,” she explained, adding: “I fought for mine and my kids’ lives, and I got lucky… My kids didn’t wake up and they don’t know anything about it.”

Police have released surveillance video of the incident in a bid to try and identify the suspects. The video shows two masked men in dark hoodies standing outside her home. The pair appear to be mapping out their plan before they shattered a sliding door and entered her $6.47m (€5.6m) California home.

The burglars who were reportedly in the home for 20 minutes stole over $100,000 (€86.5) worth of goods including bags, watches and jewellery.

Taking to Instagram two days after the incident she told fans:

“As you all know by now, I have been through a terrifying ordeal, one that no parent or person should ever have to experience. I’ve received so many messages of love and support and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s truly overwhelming.”

“My kids are unaware of what happened, they slept through it and I thank God for keeping my kids and myself from being physically harmed,” she added.

“My family now needs to start the healing process. I have thrown myself straight back into work as I want our family to return to normality as soon as possible,” she said.

“With the love and support of my husband, my incredible family, friends, fans and followers, I am confident this is the right thing to do whilst I independently work through the trauma.”

Dorit also paid tribute to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for their “care and attention.

When asked how she was doing now, the fashion designer told Extra: “I’m trying to put one foot in front of the other.”

“The panic attacks are coming… And feeling safe? How am I ever going to feel safe again? How do I protect my children?… I’m going through all of that,” she said of the haunting incident.

Dorit’s husband, 54-year-old husband Paul Kemsley, who was in the UK at a family wedding when the home invasion occurred, thanked fans for their support: “I would like to thank you all for your kind words of support. Dorit and myself have been overwhelmed by the show of love,” he wrote on Instagram. “We can’t respond to every message (I can’t even respond to all the texts and [Whatsapps])…. So I wanted to tell you all that we are doing OK.”

The couple are close pals of Robbie and Claudine Keane. The group holidayed in Spain together earlier this year.
