Footballer Jesse Lingard had £100,000 worth of clothes and jewellery stolen during a raid at his mansion in Greater Manchester.

The incident happened at his home on January 15th, while he was playing away with his team against Aston Villa.

Thieves got away with their haul before security was alerted to the break in.

He has now sold his lush pad after accepting a bid of £3 million.

A source told The Sun “He was really upset to find out he had been targeted.

"The items which were stolen are replaceable, but it’s very invasive for him to have someone break into his home, especially as he is a father.

“He has stepped up security since the robbery and is reviewing how his home is protected when he is away from it.”

In 2020, the 27-year-old previously showed off his stunning five-bedroom home on an episode of MTV Cribs.

He showed cameras around his dressing room where his clothes, 28 caps and 96 pairs of expensive trainers are kept.

He also showed off his wardrobe full of designer clothes.

The home comes with a gym, swimming pool, cinema and an outdoor play area for his young daughter.

Lingard was targeted just days before his team mate Victor Lindelof was robbed while playing away against Brentford on January 19th.

Taking to Instagram on the day following the break-in, his wife Maja said: “During Victor's game this Wednesday night we had a break-in at our house in Manchester.

“I was home alone with both kids but we managed to hide and lock ourselves in a room before they entered our house.

“We are OK under the circumstances but it was obviously a very traumatic and scary moment for both and my little kids.”

The family then jetted to Sweden to spent time with family after their harrowing ordeal.
