A “hot” burglar who was on the run from police has been tracked down after his mugshot, which left Facebook users swooning, went viral.

Jonathan Cahill was on the run from South Yorkshire Police when his mugshot was shared on Facebook on January 28th in hopes of tracking him down.

The 37-year-old who was released from prison last September after serving part of his sentence for burglary was wanted for breaching the terms of his release.

A Facebook post seeking information on his whereabouts garnered over 23,000 comments.

Described as 6’ ft tall with a medium build, his mugshot caught the eye of women on social media who vowed to track him down for themselves, and their remarks were hilarious.

“In the spirit of keeping everyone free from this public menace we could make the ultimate sacrifice and lie on him for hours until the help we didn't call for doesn't come,” one person wrote.

“I’d also like further information on the whereabouts of this man please!!!”

“I’d lock the poor after he was already in the house.”

“If anyone sees him I’ve left my tv and PS4 on show, doors unlocked and all.”

Another Facebook user added: “He will steal your hearts then steal your car keys, TVs phones and laptops.”

“I’ll leave my doors, windows and legs open for him.”

“He’s currently tied up in some random women’s house in Leeds.. he’s not breached just being held hostage.”

“The guy that keeps on stealing… mostly hearts this week! I feel sorry for the bloke. There's now 3000 women trying to find him,” another said, feeling sorry for the “sexy” criminal.

“This guy would be safer in prison after reading these comments.”

Four days later on February 1st West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Cahill was located and was back in custody.

However it isn't all bad news for fans of the thief as he has stated on his Facebook account that he is single.
