CCTV footage released by the Alabama Sheriff's department show missing prison officer Vicky White (56) helping her “monster” lover escape from jail.

The newly released video shows White, who is now missing, leaving Lauderdale County Detention Centre with suspected killer Casey Cole White (38).

Despite sharing a surname the pair are unrelated, however investigators said that the pair have a “special relationship” but did not reveal the nature of it.

The incident occurred on April 29th, White’s final day at work. She had recently sold her home and told colleagues she was set to spend more time “at the beach.”

Surveillance shows a police car parking outside a jailhouse door before a woman matching Vicky’s description exiting the driver’s seat and walking into the facility.

Approximately one minute later she returns outside, followed by the alleged murderer.

The 6ft 9inch inmate is seen wearing leg shackles and handcuffs before he gets into the car.

Vicky then jumps into the driver’s seat before she slowly drives away from the jail.

Approximately 30 minutes before the pair made off together, Vicky, who is the assistant director of corrections at the prison, told her colleagues that she was taking Casey to the county courthouse for a mental health evaluation.

She also said that she was unwell and going to see a doctor afterwards in what was believed to be a bid to buy more time.

Police believe she orchestrated the escape after breaking protocol to escort the detainee alone to a bogus appointment.

Hours later when officers noticed that Casey had not been returned to his cell they tried to contact Vicky but her phone went straight to voicemail.

The vehicle they left the facility in was found in a nearby car park some hours later.

From there they made their onward journey in an orange coloured Ford Edge SUV and have not been seen since.

The U.S. Marshals have said that the pair are “armed and dangerous. As they may be travelling with an AR-15 rifle, a shotgun and Vicky White’s service weapon.

Casey White was being held on pending murder charges in connection with the death of Connie Ridgeway in 2015.
