A man has been charged with the murder of former RUC officer Brian Coulter in Magherafelt on Monday.
Police arrested a man last Monday, shortly after the 62-year-old’s body was discovered in his flat in the Sandy Braes area of the Co Derry town.
Just after 2pm yesterday a police spokesperson said: “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team, investigating the murder of 62-year-old Brian Coulter in the Sandy Braes area of Magherafelt on 18th October, have charged a 27-year-old man with murder.
“He is expected to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25th October.”
