Gardai say a man has been arrested after a quantity of suspected cocaine wrapped in little bags was seized during a raid on a house in Mullingar.

Gardai in Westmeath posted this pictures of the suspected drugs wrapped in a number of little bags that were discovered during the search of a house in the Fairgreen area on Tuesday (January 26).

Under the picture gardai wrote: “On the 26th of January 2021 gardai from the Westmeath divisional drug unit searched a house in the Fairgreen area of Mullingar.

“In the course of the search they located approximately €2,700 worth of suspected cocaine. One man was arrested and will be before the courts shortly.”

The Garda Press Office confirmed that a man has been charged in relation to the seizure.

They also said that he had been subsequently released and will appear before the courts on February 12.

In a statement they said: “On January 26, Westmeath Gardaí executed a search warrant at a house in Mullingar where they recovered approximately €2,700 in suspected illegal drugs.

“One male aged in his early 30s was arrested and charged in relation with this seizure.

"He has since been released and is due to appear before Mullingar District Court on the 12th of February 2021.”
