A man has been arrested by gardai following an armed robbery at a business premises on Grafton Street in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Gardai said a lone male had entered the business premises armed with a weapon and threatened the staff members at around 3.20pm.

He fled the scene on foot with a number of stolen items.

Gardaí in Pearse Street later arrested one man in his early 40s in a follow up search and a number of items stolen from the premises were located.

He was taken to Pearse Street Garda station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
